On April 24th, HPEDSB proudly hosted another successful edition of Bandfest, an event that has been a highlight in our calendar since its inception in 2016. This year's Bandfest featured concert band performances from ten participating schools, showcasing the immense musical talent within our community.
Following the performances, students had the opportunity to participate in workshops led by guest adjudicators, Dan Douglas, Terry Denyes, Blair Yarranton and Andy Seguire. These sessions provided valuable feedback and insights aimed at helping our young musicians refine their skills and reach new heights in their musical journeys.
One of the highlights of this year's Bandfest was a special guest performance by The Belleville Concert Band. Their participation added an extra layer of excitement and inspiration to the event, further enhancing the experience for both performers and audience members alike.
We extend our sincerest gratitude to our sponsors, Greg's Brass and Woodwind Services, Long and McQuaide Belleville and the Quinte Arts Council, whose generous support made Bandfest possible. Their commitment to the arts and education enriches our community in immeasurable ways.
Behind the scenes, our dedicated teacher organizers, Amy Claxton and Adrienne Deveau-Wachner worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth execution of the event. Their passion for music education and unwavering dedication to our students are truly commendable.
As we reflect on another successful Bandfest, we are reminded of the power of music to bring people together and uplift spirits. We thank everyone who contributed to making this year's event a resounding success.
