"Having overcome a number of challenges within our first year together, we have agreed as a collective on a strong governance path forward. Should it be the will of the Board, I am prepared to lead our team through them with honesty and efficiency, addressing hard decisions head on,” said Binder.

Binder first joined the Board in 2018 and was acclaimed as Trustee for Southeast Hastings in the 2022 Municipal Election. She has served as Chair for three previous years and Vice-chair for one, and has sat on various committees

Robertson expressed a willingness to work with Chair Binder to help guide the Board  through the upcoming strategic planning process and help facilitate the contributions of all voices around the table.

"Over the past year I've developed strong working relationships with many of you through my work on committees and at the Board table. I've developed efficiency and effectiveness skills, and an ability to resolve conflict and problem solve. My experience as an OPSBA director has provided  big picture strategic thinking, as well as meaningful and valuable trustee and education system connections," said Robertson.
