March 7, 2024

Happy March to all HPEDSB students and families.

As we near the end of the week, I want to wish you a restful and enjoyable March Break. When school resumes, there will be just over three months left in the school year, which will be packed with learning and many activities.

As mentioned in my last letter, attendance matters each and every day. Please take the time to read about the SafeArrival app. If you’re already using it, you know it’s a quick and easy way to let the school know when your child will be away from school.

In the meantime, I want to share some updates, including information about next year’s calendar and upcoming learning opportunities.

Confirmed school year calendar dates

Last week you received an email from us about draft dates for the 2024-2025 school year calendar. These dates are confirmed with the Ministry of Education.

For families of elementary school students, the 1-5 Day Cycle calendar will be created and shared in the coming weeks.

Travel for Credit program

HPEDSB has partnered with EF Educational Tours to offer Travel for Credit courses this summer for students going into Grades 9 to 12. These summer courses enable students to travel while earning one high school credit. Registration is open now.

Students who register for courses will participate in three weeks of online learning (asynchronous) plus one week of travel with EF Educational Tours.

Please enjoy the break. I look forward to welcoming students and staff back on March 18!
