A tentative collective agreement has been reached between the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board, and the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation District 29 Teachers/Occasional Teachers' Bargaining Unit.
“This is welcome news. The Vision in the HPEDSB strategic plan is Lead with integrity and high expectations for all and I believe this tentative agreement exemplifies it. This tentative agreement is a positive outcome that keeps students in school learning and achieving, and provides a supportive work environment for teachers," said Shannon Binder, Chair of the Board.
"We are pleased to have reached a tentative agreement with the Board. After 11 months of sometimes challenging negotiations, we believe that we have achieved a fair and respectful agreement for our members," said Andrew Wachner, Interim President of OSSTF District 29 T/OTBU
Ratification votes are expected to take place in the coming weeks. No details of the agreement or anything further will be released at this time.
