Families of students with complex special needs are invited to an online event about the transition to Kindergarten (T2K).

This event is specifically for families of students with special education needs.
Starting Kindergarten is big change for young children and their families. It’s a time of new beginnings, new surroundings, new friends and new learning. It can also be confusing and unsettling.
What to expect at this event
Participants will learn how to help make the transition to Kindergarten as smooth as possible. Find out about available supports, including multi-team meetings, specialized equipment and more. Participants will be able to ask questions during the event.
T2K is a collaboration between the following school boards and community partners:
- Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board
- Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board
- Family Space Quinte*
- Quinte Children’s Treatment Centre**
*Family Space Quinte will present advocacy skills and how to develop school readiness routines.
**Quinte Children’s Treatment Centre will present on self-regulation.
