Each spring, school boards are required to establish a school year calendar for the upcoming school year, in accordance with Regulation 304: School Year Calendar and Regulation 364/15. These regulations set the beginning and end dates for the school year, stipulate school holidays, and prescribe the minimum number of instructional days (194), and the maximum number of professional activity days (7) and board designated holidays (Winter Break and Mid-winter Break).
In consultation with our two neighbouring school boards, Algonquin Lakeshore Catholic District School Board and Limestone District School Board, the following three options are being shared for input from employees, students, parents/guardians and community partners.

- First day of school: Tuesday, September 6, 2022 (the day after Labour Day)
- Last instructional day of school: Thursday, June 29, 2023
- PA Day: Friday, June 30, 2023
- Secondary Semester 2: begins Monday, February 6, 2023 (after PA Day on Friday February 3, 2023)
- Winter Break: begins Monday, December 19, 2022 (last day of school Friday, December 16, 2022)
- Return to school: Tuesday, January 3, 2023
Option 2
- First day of school: Tuesday, September 6, 2022 (the day after Labour Day)
- PA Day: Friday, September 2, 2022
- Last instructional day of school: Thursday, June 29, 2023
- PA Day: Friday, June 30, 2023
- Secondary Semester 2: begins Monday, February 6, 2023 (after PA Day on Friday, February 3, 2023)
- Winter Break: begins Friday, December 23, 2022 (last day of school Thursday, December 22, 2022)
- Return to school: Monday, January 9, 2023
Option 3
- First day of school: Tuesday, September 6, 2022 (the day after Labour Day)
- PA Day: Friday, September 2, 2022
- Last instructional day of school: Thursday, June 29, 2023
- PA Day: Friday, June 30, 2023
- Secondary Semester 2: begins Monday, February 6, 2023 (after PA Day on Friday, February 3, 2023)
- Christmas Break: begins on Monday, December 26, 2022 (last day of school Friday, December 23, 2022
- Return to school: Monday, January 9, 2023
- Holiday: Friday, March 10, 2023 (ahead of March Break)
