Recommendations
Tender for Culinary Arts renovation at Trenton High School
Board members approved a tender to K. Knudsen Construction Limited in the amount of $1.2 million for Culinary Arts renovations at Trenton High School. This project is proposed to start in July 2022 with an anticipated substantial completion date of March 2023. Find out more on page 2 of the June 27, 2022 agenda.
2022-2023 Budget
Board members approved the 2022-2023 budget. It includes revenues of $221.6 million, expenses of $222.1 million and a projected in-year deficit for compliance purposes of $1.7 million. Find out more starting on page 2 of the June 27, 2022 Committee of the Whole agenda.
In-year Deficit Elimination Plan
Board members approved the In-year Deficit Elimination Plan for the 2022-2023 budget. If a school board budgets or reports an in-year deficit for 2022-2023, it must submit a plan indicating the measures it will take to balance its budget and eliminate the in-year deficit within two years. Board members also approved two additional recommendations, as follows:
- That at the August 29, 2022 Committee of the Whole meeting, trustees discuss and plan for education funding solutions and advocacy to be sent to the Ministry of Education; and
- That the chair, vice-chair and director of education schedule bi-yearly meetings with both elected MPPs between 2022 and 2026.
