On behalf of the trustees and staff of HPEDSB, best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season!
This fall has been a whirlwind of student learning and activities to get the school year underway. In classrooms, staff have focused on ensuring students have the skills, knowledge and understanding of the curriculum that will set them up for educational success for the rest of the school year. We’ve seen sports, activities and field trips return to schools in full force, with all the enjoyment and energy that come with them. We’re thankful to have the opportunity to provide meaningful experiences for students while they learn in our schools.
I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the staff who make all these activities possible. Their dedication, volunteerism and hard work make our schools amazing places to be. I hope you have had an opportunity to join in an assembly, see a holiday concert, visit an open house, or cheer on a sporting event to witness this yourself. You can also see the learning and accomplishments of the past school year in the 2022 Director’s Annual Report. It highlights some of the wonderful happenings that make us #Proud2BeHPE!
The new year promises to be equally busy. We have a clear commitment to support learning for all students to succeed in their chosen pathway. We’re focusing on our youngest learners developing reading skills, secondary school students experiencing single stream success and expanding specialty program opportunities. Student well-being will continue to be a priority as we look forward to welcoming students back on January 9, 2023.
Please have a happy, healthy holiday season. Enjoy family, friends, and take the time to pause and appreciate each other.
Happy Holidays,
Katherine
