August 14, 2023—On Thursday, August 17, 2023, Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board (HPEDSB), in partnership with the Belleville Quinte West Community Health Centre and other local agencies, is hosting a Youth Summit for Mental Health.

LOCATION: HPEDSB Education Centre, 156 Ann Street, Belleville

The free in-person, youth-led event is for students 12-19 years of age who are interested in learning more about student mental health and being well-being champions at their schools. The training will consist of learning the facts about mental health, knowing yourself, helping yourself, and the five golden rules for helping a friend or peer.
Well-being champions are a group of young students who are dedicated to helping their peers and other students understand mental health, break down stigma, and promote mental health within their schools.
Summit participants will have the opportunity to:
- Get out, socialize and support your peers
- Engage in conversations and activities about mental health
- Learn skills to assert yourself and take action in your community
- Share diverse perspectives in an inclusive and safe space
