Posted at 4:50 p.m. The fire alarm went off near the end of the school day today at Stirling Public School. At approximately 3:00 p.m. the sprinkler system activated in the southwest stairwell, which is the area closest to the playground. Students and staff went outside according to normal school evacuation procedures. They were outside for approximately 3 -7 minutes. The fire department responded quickly and gave the approval to go back inside. Students and staff went to the gym and were dismissed to their classrooms at the end of the school day. Buses were delayed by approximately 20 minutes. All students and staff were safe at all times. The school will be open as usual tomorrow.
