During Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week, November 17 - 23, 2013, Ontario students, school staff, parents/guardians and community agencies are encouraged to learn more about bullying and its effect on student learning and well-being.
Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board values the involvement of community partners who support this initiative to ensure safe, healthy, respectful and inclusive learning and working environments. Seven municipalities/counties have officially proclaimed Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week. The local theme is Be Kind to Me.
Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week is an important way for school communities to promote safer learning environments for all students, which is essential to their success. It is also a time to raise awareness of bullying-related issues with parents/guardians and the local community.
Schools will be hosting a variety of bullying awareness events and activities throughout the week.
