At Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board, one of our goals is to connect with our communities, and to engage with students, families and employees. We're inviting these groups to have a voice with regard to safe, caring and welcoming schools for everyone. Watch this short YouTube video to learn more.
Our school climate surveys are now open for participation. The surveys are part of the Ministry of Education's focus on positive school climate, and are connected to our system plan known as AiM—Achievement in Motion for Student Success.
These surveys are intended for students in Grades 4-12, parents/guardians and school staff. Participation is voluntary and responses are anonymous. Data gathered will be used to plan district- and school-based actions.
How to complete a school climate survey
The survey is web‐based and is open until November 29, 2013. Links to the the survey are posted on the home page of each school. It takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes to complete. Paper copies are also available.
The survey allows students, parents/guardians and school staff to give feedback about their school experience in an anonymous way. There are no incorrect responses and survey results will not be used to evaluate schools or school staffs.
The results of the surveys will be used to determine next steps with regard to school improvement and board improvement planning. Highlights of the survey may be shared with community partners.
