When asked by a parent at the Moira IB Diploma Information Night how she prepared for the SAT, Hatt said, "If you are thinking about writing the SAT, IB Mathematics is an excellent preparation for it."
IB Mathematics teacher, Mr. Jackson, informed Moira staff just how incredible Hatt's test results are, saying, "She is breathing rarefied air. Over the last few years less than three tests in 10,000 were scored with a perfect 2400 on the SATs."
Hatt is currently in Grade 12 completing the final year of her IB Diploma Programme. She is also the co-president of the student council, an exceptional volunteer, an athlete and an extremely valued member of the school community.
Hatt has attended Moira Secondary School since Grade 7 and 8 through the IB Destinations Programme offered at Harry J. Clarke Public School. After Grade 8, she progressed to the IB Foundations Programme for Grade 9 and 10 and continued into the IB Diploma Programme for Grade 11 and 12.
She has already started mentoring some of the students in the Grade 9 and 10 IB Foundations Programme who hope to have her results when they write the SAT.
Considering 1.6 million students wrote the SAT this year, Laura has achieved something only a few people in the world obtain!
