At Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board our vision is: All students prepared and empowered for the possibilities of today and tomorrow. Strong literacy skills are key to helping each student achieve success.
Family Literacy Day, celebrated on January 27 each year, is an initiative created by ABC Life Literacy Canada. It is recognized nationally to promote the importance of reading and taking part in other literacy-related activities as a family. For children to develop literacy skills, it is important to spend time each day reading and doing learning activities. Even Just 15 minutes a day can improve a child's literacy skill.
Achieving Excellence & Equity, Public Confidence and Well-Being are priorities in the 2015-2020 Strategic Plan. Strategic goals linked to these priorities include providing programs and services to help each student achieve success, and creating learning environments that optimize students' potential.
Thank you for your support in developing capable, confident and curious learners for recognizing Family Literacy Day.
Join in celebrating Family Literacy Day on January 27 and every day!
