Students in the Environmental Club at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute are holding an electronics waste fundraiser. This event provides a safe way for community members to dispose of electronics.
DATE: Saturday, October 31, 2015
TIME: 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Prince Edward Collegiate Institute, 41 Barker Street, Picton (back parking lot)
Community members are invited to drop off unwanted, outdated or broken electronics waste for free. All proceeds will go to the Loyalist Humane Society.
Examples of acceptable electronic waste items
- Electronics (computers, peripherals, smartphones; MP3 players similar; a complete list is available on request)
- Tires
- Scrap metal
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please erase hard drives before dropping off your old computers.
Items that will not be accepted
- Batteries
- Microwave ovens
- Small appliances, such as coffee makers, that are predominantly plastic
- Any form of hazardous waste other than electronics
