Regional art show showcases student and teachers talents

Variations 2010, the 22nd annual regional art show for all secondary students in Hastings and Prince Edward counties, is now on at the John M. Parrott Gallery at Belleville Public Library.

A new feature this year is the addition of work by Visual Arts teachers. Their work is displayed in Gallery Two on the west wall. One of the pieces, titled Still Life, by Centennial Secondary School teacher Christine Christos, was exhibited in the 6th International Graphic Triennial at the National Institute and Museum in Bitola, Macedonia.

One student work featured is titled The Undeserving by Lizz McKenna of Centennial Secondary School. This work was submitted to the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation Marion Drysdale Student Achievement Awards on the theme of “Suppress Excess, Living Within our Means.”
