The Prince Charles Public School community in Trenton is buzzing with activity and enthusiasm. They have raised nearly $70,000 for a new community playground that will be installed at the school in mid-June.
The fundraising campaign has been a tremendous success over the past year. In addition to the monetary pledges, another $10,000 has been granted in-kind to support various aspects of the project.
Installing a new playground has been a community-based project for some time. Several community businesses and families have donated time, money and materials to make it a reality. Many will also be involved in the installation of the new equipment.
The school has also benefitted in other ways from the awareness this project has generated. Recently the school kitchen received a makeover, with Home Depot providing a new fridge, stove, cabinets, faucets and fan. Also, the United Way of Quinte donated over 100 boxes of cereal to the breakfast club and baseball equipment for school teams.
Thank you to all who have contributed to help this dream become a reality.
