Moira Juniors to play in national football final

Congratulations to Moira Junior Trojans for a 24-7 win over the Barrie Phoenix in the National Capital Bowl junior football semi-final playoffs last Saturday.

This win was a significant accomplishment. It was the first time in school history and only the second Bay of Quinte team ever to go to the National Capital Bowl.

Two touchdowns by quarterback Mitchell Chouinard led the way for the Trojans. The team now has a 15-and-1 record against AA teams in the last two seasons.

As the COSSA AA champs and Bay of Quinte runner-up, Moira will play for the 2011 National Capital Bowl title during the final game to be played in Ottawa on Saturday, November 26.
