Employer Appreciation Week: June 4 to 8

This week we say "thank you" to employers throughout Hastings County and Prince Edward County for hiring students.

  • Over 500 employers hire more than 600 students for half-day or full-day co-operative education placements. Students are working at restaurants, stores, nursing homes, animal hospitals, CFB Trenton, business offices and in construction, to name some of the experiences presently underway.
  • This year, 50+ employers have signed students to apprenticeships in various trades, such as hairstyling, general carpentry, cook, automotive service, child development practitioner, and brick and stone mason.
  • Several other employers have opened their doors to welcome classes for workplace visits or to support special events for students to learn about careers in different sectors, such as the Careers in Health Day event.
  • Cooperative education and experiential learning activities let students explore different careers and to learn about skills that are important to success in the workplace.
