David Fox named as interim principal at PECI

Retired Superintendent of Education David Fox has been appointed as interim principal at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute in Picton for the months of September and October 2009. Former principal Ken Manderville was recently appointed as a system principal for Student Success and will relocate to the Education Centre in Belleville.

Fox began his career with The Prince Edward County Board of Education as a teacher at Pinecrest Memorial Elementary School in 1971. He was appointed to vice-principal at South Marysburgh Central School in 1988 and to principal at Massassaga-Rednersville Public School in 1991. In 1998 Fox transferred to the Education Centre as assistant to the superintendent. He was promoted to superintendent in 2002. Fox retired in August 2007.

Fox’s appointment will provide the Board with an opportunity to complete a search process for a new principal for PECI in the early fall.
