‘Agribition’ shows students where food comes from

Do you know how butter is made? Have you ever milked a cow? Do tractors have GPS—Global Positioning Systems?

Grade 4 students will learn answers to these and other agricultural-related questions at the second Agribition (agricultural exhibition). The event will promote healthy living, show children where food comes from and why farming matters to their everyday lives.

Date: Wednesday, October 6 and Thursday, October 7, 2010
Location: Hastings County Museum of Agricultural Heritage located at the Stirling fairgrounds

Students will participate in a guided tour of the Agricultural Museum to learn about past agricultural practices. They will also view the modern day displays hosted by various commodity groups. Because today’s children are tomorrow’s consumers, this event will introduce them to agriculture first-hand in a manner linked directly to The Ontario Curriculum.
