Creation of a peace trail at Breadner Elementary School will become a reality courtesy of a $1,000 grant from S’Cool Life Fund.
The peace trail will be located on the school yard. It will be a walking path that leads to an area with picnic tables where students and staff can go to reflect and have some quiet time.
Former Breadner Elementary students who are now at Trenton High School were involved in constructing the picnic tables and a former College Street/Bayside Public School/Bayside Secondary School student burned Growing with Character words, board and school crests onto them.
It is anticipated that students, parents and staff will be involved in the total construction of the paths and gardens.
A cheque presentation is scheduled; media representatives and school community members are invited to attend.
