Join in recognizing World Autism Awareness Day, April 2, 2018
March 29, 2018— Monday, April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day, a day to develop and increase world knowledge about autism.
As described in the Achieving Excellence & Equity and Well-Being priorities in the 2015-2020 Strategic Plan, through our daily interactions with students, their families, community partners and each other, we provide programs and services to help each success while creating welcoming, safe and inclusive learning environments that optimize students’ potential.
Educators and support staff in Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board have chosen professions that serve students.
Our vision is that all students are prepared and empowered for the possibilities of today & tomorrow.
According to the organization Autism Speaks/Light it Up Blue, World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD) shines a bright light on autism as a growing global health crisis. WAAD activities help to increase and develop world knowledge of the autism epidemic and impart information regarding the importance of early diagnosis and early intervention. Additionally, WAAD celebrates the unique talents and skills of persons with autism and is a day when individuals with autism are warmly welcomed and embraced in community events around the globe.
