“What’s Next?!” event for students entering the workforce
April 23, 2018—Students from eight secondary schools are looking forward to participating in the “What’s Next?!” conference. It is a hands-on learning day for students who are entering the workforce immediately upon graduation, or who are senior students in looking for assistance to secure a part-time job.
DATE: Wednesday, April 25, 2018
TIME: 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre, Belleville
The keynote speaker is Robert Watt, President and Founder of RJW-Gem Campbell Stonemasons.
Students will participate in workshops hosted by community partners and hear from an employer panel. Information tables will be set-up during lunch for students to find out about employment service providers and community partners.

This event was piloted with three secondary schools in 2017. Students found it helpful which led to it being offered to all eight now. Last year students asked questions, made connections with each other and the presenters, developed an understanding of potential future paths and learned how to plan for success after high school.
