| Our Community |
Our district population is less than 100,000 people providing all of the conveniences, security and comfort of a small city. Belleville is two hours from Toronto and Ottawa, and four hours from Montreal - each with international airports. Our community can be easily reached by car, train or bus.
Our area is a destination of choice for outdoor fun - skiing, boating, fishing, hiking and camping. We have numerous museums, shops, restaurants, and a thriving arts community. We are surrounded by numerous universities, such as Queen's University, University of Toronto, Ottawa and Carleton, plus several community colleges.
The climate is moderate with four distinct seasons. The average winter temperature is about -8°C and the average summer temperature is about 25°C. |
