SPECIAL PROJECT FUNDING
Food for Learning primarily provides funding for student nutrition programs (breakfast, lunch, snack), however, we recognize that there are many other food related activities that occur during the school year, each benefiting students by providing nutrition.
Food for Learning will now accept applications for funding to support projects/events hosted by local schools.
The focus of this funding is to explore innovative projects/events/activities that promote the mission of Food for Learning and will provide nutrition to students in an effort to enhance learning.

Schools throughout Hastings and Prince
Edward counties need volunteers to help them with their breakfast programs. Volunteers are needed to shop for groceries, prepare and serve food to children, assist with paper work and so much more! If you have some time in the mornings and would like to help please contact Kellie Brace (613) 966-1170, ext. 2232.
STARTING THE YEAR OFF RIGHT
VP CARSWELL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
On September 12, 2013, as part of our open house day, we provided each student in the school with a nice red shinny apple as a way to promote both healthy eating and the Food for Learning program. 158 students enjoyed apples!!! It was a hit and kids are still talking about it.

FEED THE METER 2013
Once again, this holiday season Food for Learning's Feed the Meter campaign will be back in the communities of Trenton, Picton, Belleville, Bancroft and Stirling.
Throughout the month of December, downtown parking in Trenton, Belleville and Picton will be free - however, visitors to the downtown area are invited to continue to pay for their parking by dropping spare change in the parking meters.
In addition, virtual parking meters will be placed throughout the communities of Bancroft and Stirling during the same time period, in an effort to raise funds for the student nutrition programs in those communities.
All proceeds from this campaign will be provided to schools in the participating communities to purchase food and supplies for their Food for Learning programs. All funds will remain in the communities where it was collected.
