CELEBRATE WITH NEW MILLENNIUM CALENDAR

You can celebrate 2000 with a who's who from Hastings and Prince Edward public schools. As part of its millennium celebrations, the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board is producing a calendar featuring famous people who have had a connection with education in Hastings and Prince Edward.

A number of our schools including Bird's Creek, North Hastings High and Stirling Elementary schools will be using the calendar to raise funds for their own activities. Students from these schools will be taking orders during the first few weeks of November with the cost being $10 each.

"We believe anyone who has attended our schools will be proud to know they have walked the same halls as many nationally famous individuals," says Christine Zaporzan, Marketing Assistant with the Board.

Famous people to be featured in the calendar include: Roy Bonisteel, Journalist; Sir Mackenzie Bowell, 5th Prime Minister; Stevie Cameron, Journalist/Author; Dr. Marlene Brant Castellano, Educator, recipient of 1996 National Aboriginal Achievement Award; Dr. James Collip, member of insulin discovery team; Michael Dumas, Artist; Bobby Hull, Hockey Hall of Fame; Clay Ives, Olympic Luge medalist; Manly Macdonald, Artist; Farley Mowat, Author; Adam Sioui, National Swim team; Kerry Stratton, Conductor of Toronto Philharmonia; Lyle Vanclief, Minister of Agriculture and Food Canada.

For information about the calendar, contact Christine Zaporzan, Marketing Assistant at 966-1170, ext. 2236. To purchase calendars please contact the participating schools.
