9 May 2008, Belleville, ON—Grade 8 students from Frankford Public School are in for a day of challenges, teamwork and triumph when they visit their high school next week. "Grade 8 Day" at Bayside Secondary School will feature a Survivor theme utilizing eco-friendly products.
According to teacher Terry Weinert, the day will consist of two team challenges. The morning events will involve eggs and the afternoon events will involve cardboard, hot glue and facial tissue.
"The planning group at the high school has had a lot of fun coming up with the activities. Bayside students are hyped about the Grade 8s visiting. This is our chance to welcome the students who will be at our school in September," remarks Weinert.
Media representatives are invited to attend and report on the event.

Time: Beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Morning events
Groups of students will create a container for the egg using pieces of bamboo, elastics and facial tissue. Next, they will build a tower using bamboo and hemp lace. Finally, the egg container must be pushed off the top of the tower using a water hydraulic system made from syringes and tubing. The egg container must survive the fall from the top of the tower.
Afternoon events
Groups of students will create a crash car using cardboard, hot glue and facial tissue. The car must hold an egg that must survive the crash test conducted on a track. The car will be propelled by either a CO2 cartridge or a bungee cord system using surgical tubing.
