Synergy: the whole is greater than the sum of the parts
1 April 2008, Belleville, ON—Synergy 2008 is the 20th annual regional art show for secondary school students in Hastings and Prince Edward counties. It runs from April 3-23 in the John M. Parrott Art Gallery at the Belleville Public Library.
An opening reception will be held on Thursday, April 3 from 6-7:30 p.m.
“Synergy” was chosen for this year’s show to celebrate the 20 years of student art shows in the Quinte area. It was selected to communicate the message that “the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.” In keeping with this message, the promotional materials were developed collaboratively and all Quinte area schools were invited to submit photographs of student work to be included in a composite poster advertising and promoting the show.
The following area schools each submitted five selected pieces per school:

• Prince Edward Collegiate Institute |
• Quinte Secondary School |
• St. Paul Secondary School |
• St. Theresa Secondary School |

The show runs from April 3-23, 2008 at the John M. Parrot Art Gallery, Belleville Public Library, 254 Pinnacle Street.
Gallery hours are:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 9:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
- Friday: 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
The show is co-ordinated by the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board through Susan Davies, Arts Co-ordinator and hosted by the John M. Parrott Art Gallery, through Curator, Susan Holland.
