22 March 2007, Belleville, Ontario—Visual Explosion 2007 is the 19th annual regional art show for secondary students in our counties. It runs from April 5-26 at the Belleville Public Library Art Gallery.

An opening reception will be held on Thursday, April 5th, 2007 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. HPEDSB superintendent Jan Montgomery be a guest speaker at this event. Visual Explosion 2007 is open to members of the public, parents, family members, teachers, administrators and trustees.

This year's promotional materials were the responsibility of Bayside Secondary School under the direction of Visual Art teacher Dan Campbell. The promotional poster and invitation design were selected from works by Bayside Secondary School senior Visual Arts students and created by Cassie Sine, a graduating Grade 12 student at BSS, and features a vibrant floral arrangement.

The following public, Catholic and private schools in Hastings and Prince Edward counties submitted five pieces per school:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 9:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
• Friday: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Saturday: 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• Sunday: 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The show is co-ordinated by the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board through Susan Davies, Arts Co-ordinator and hosted by Belleville Public Library Art Galleries, through Curator, Susan Holland.
