Secondary students to benefit from car donation
12 October 2005, Belleville, Ontario—The process of learning through hands-on
experience will become a reality for students of Quinte Secondary School. The
school is the recipient of a car donated by community members Sharon Shortt
and her son Jeffrey Shortt.
The car is a 1996 Plymouth Neon. Ms. Shortt purchased the car for Jeffery and he drove it for several years. When it was no longer needed, Jeffrey decided to donate it to Quinte Secondary School. Students in Grades 10 to 12 are the beneficiaries of the donation. Grade 10s will service the car, and Grade 11s and 12s will perform diagnostic testing.
Co-ordination of the donation was arranged through The Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation.
