Bayside Secondary welcomes Ben Levin, Deputy Minister of Education
5 June 2006, Belleville, Ontario—Students and staff at Bayside Secondary School are energized about today's visit to the school by Dr. Ben Levin, Deputy Minister of Education. Dr. Levin is spending the day in Belleville to tour public, Catholic and provincial schools.

While at Bayside Secondary, Dr. Levin will visit the Credit Recovery/Rescue program, participate in a problem-solving session with Student Success teachers, and visit with co-op students.

"We are thrilled to host Dr. Levin and have the opportunity to feature Bayside Secondary," remarks principal Ron Harris. "Dr. Levin will get a glimpse of our full-range of courses and how they are enriched with specialized programming which extends student options and experiences."

The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board has 46 elementary and eight secondary schools serving 18,700 students, employing 1,067 teachers and 775 support staff. The Board covers a wide geographical area of 7,221 square kilometres bordered by Maynooth to the north, Deseronto to the east, Prince Edward County to the south, and Quinte West to the west.
