Savings from staggered bells initiative are invested in support programs and services for students
At a public Board meeting this evening, the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board approved a list of projects that are focused on student achievement. Over $1.1 million dollars will be invested in support programs and services for students.

The following four initiatives totalling $437,000 were previously approved:

“The most important thing we do is educate children—our collective future. Our Board’s strategic plan states that we will prepare students to meet global challenges in a changing world. We believe that by providing funding for these initiatives, we are fulfilling this goal to our 18,000 plus students,” remarks Judy Edgar, Chair of the Board.

The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board has 54 schools serving 18,900 students and employing 1,083 teachers. The Board covers a wide geographical area of 7,221 square kilometres bordered by Maynooth to the north, Deseronto to the east, Prince Edward County to the south, and Quinte West to the west.
