Exploring Possibilities 2005: Secondary School Art Show
Exploring Possibilities 2005 is the 18th annual regional art show for secondary students in Hastings and Prince Edward counties. The event features high quality student artwork and is a highlight of the academic year for Visual Arts students.
This year's promotional materials were the responsibility of Centre Hastings Secondary School (CHSS) in Madoc under the direction of Visual Art teacher Tisha Francis. Her students worked with the theme Exploring Possibilities and created M.C. Escher inspired designs which line the stairwell to the gallery. The promotional poster and invitation design selected from this group of works was created by Elizabeth Laidlaw, a Grade 12 student at CHSS, and features a complex tessellation design in bright orange and blue hues.
“This show is a highlight of the academic year for Visual Arts students. It is a tremendous honour to have the work selected for the show as the quality is very high,” remarks Susan Davies, Arts Co-ordinator.
