Public school Board announces new school administrators for
2004–2005 school year

The start of the school year in September 2004 will bring new principals and vice-principals to some schools in the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board. The elementary and secondary administrator appointments were approved at the April 26 Board meeting, and result from a number of impending retirements and transfers.

“On behalf of the Board, I offer congratulations to these educators whose leadership and vision will continue to enhance the future of education in the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board,” remarks Judy Edgar, Chair of the Board.

All appointments are effective September 1, 2004.

Assistant to the Superintendent of Instruction – Information Technology
The Board is further pleased to announce that Darryl Denyes, Principal, Madoc Public School, has accepted a new position as Assistant to the Superintendent of Instruction – Information Technology, effective September 1, 2004. In this leadership role, Darryl will be responsible for leading the Information Technology Services Department, with overall responsibility for the provision, operation and maintenance of all information systems internal and external to the Board, including planning for acquisition, replacement and support of classroom and administrative systems and technology.

The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board has 46 elementary and eight secondary schools serving 18,700 students, employing 1,067 teachers and 775 support staff. The Board covers a wide geographical area of 7,221 square kilometres bordered by Maynooth to the north, Deseronto to the east, Prince Edward County to the south, and Quinte West to the west.
