Agreement ratified with public school secondary teachers
 
        The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board and District 29 of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation are pleased to announce a salary agreement for the first year of the 2001-2004 Collective Agreement.
The agreement consists of a 1.25% salary increase retroactive to September 1, 2001 and a second increase of 1.15% to be put into place effective August 31, 2002. The agreement will also result in a decrease in the Extended Health Care and Insurance benefits provided to teachers.
        A serious shortfall in funds severely restricted the ability of both parties to reach an agreement. However, the Board and the Federation are pleased to have negotiated this interim amendment to allow for a stable, positive learning and working environment for the life of the agreement.
