Norma Soble wins provincial volunteer of the year

Norma Soble of Belleville has spent almost a decade making sure that the students of Prince Charles Public School and the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board are well nourished and ready to learn. It's her long-time involvement with the Food for Learning Committee of the school board and her commitment to the school community at Prince Charles that have helped her to be named Volunteer of the Year by Breakfast for Learning Canadian Living Foundation.
Mrs. Soble is the guest of honour at the Food for Learning Committee's Community Breakfast on Saturday, September 29. The breakfast will honour the hundreds of volunteers who help with the 33 programs in schools from Bancroft to Picton and Trenton to Deseronto. The celebration is the final event of Breakfast for Learning Month which encourages the  bringing together of business, politics, and the community to work together to make sure students are well nourished and ready to learn.
The Community Breakfast, sponsored by McDougall Insurance Brokers, will take place on Saturday, September 29, at 9:30 a.m. at Prince of Wales Public School, 37 Prince of Wales Drive, Belleville. Also in attendance at the breakfast will be Honourary Chair of the Food for Learning Committee, MPP Prince Edward Hastings, Ernie Parsons; MP Prince Edward - Hastings, Lyle Vanclief; Belleville Mayor, George Zegouras;  Director of Education, Larry Langdon; Author and Journalist  Roy Bonisteel; and representatives of the Belleville Bulls hockey team.
