HPEDSB bomb threat
Early this morning a bomb
threat was called in to the Education Centre of the Hastings and Prince
Edward District School Board. The recorded message did not identify a specific
school. The Board's emergency procedures were immediately activated across
the 55 sites.

the Belleville City Police were immediately informed of the threat.
Administrators at the school board and police are co-operating in the investigation.
Since the threat came in by telephone, Bell Canada security is also involved.

all schools in the district have been informed of the bomb threat.

a thorough search by staff has been conducted of all schools in the district
with no reports of anything suspicious being found.

to ensure the safety of students and staff, no unnecessary movements of
students or staff is warranted at this time. There have been no evacuations
of schools ordered.
The administration of the Hastings
and Prince Edward District School Board will continue to work with police
on the investigation and is optimistic that the individual or individuals
responsible will be found and prosecuted.
