Two schools complete the Canadian Olympic Challenge
Coe Hill Public School and
Frankford Public School successfully met the challenge issued by the Canadian
Olympic Association. Both schools are among only 24 school nation-wide
who have completed the 2000 Canadian Olympic Challenge. The Challenge involves
the study of the seven Canadian Olympic values -- peace, fairness, respect,
human development, fun, leadership and excellence. By completing the activities
and demonstrating their commitment to those vales, Frankford and Coe Hill
public schools have earned the title of Canadian Olympic School for a one-year
period.
Each school has earned the
privilege to fly the Canadian Olympic School Banner and display a Gold
Medal certificate. Frankford Public School received their flag at a special
assembly on Friday, May 25. Coe Hill Public School has their event scheduled
for Friday, June 15, at 1:30 p.m. when Olympic rower, Carol Eastmure-Love
will join in the celebrations.
"I am truly impressed by
the time, effort and creativity that the students and teachers have put
into becoming a Canadian Olympic School," said Patricia Murray, Chair,
Canadian Olympic Association Education Committee. "These students are definitely
living the values of the Canadian Olympic Association."
