New teachers arrive for school
Ninety new teachers are joining
the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board this September. These
eager teachers, new to the Board, will be busy over the next few weeks
getting ready for their students, meeting their colleagues and receiving
some additional training.
All the new teachers will
receive training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Health and Safety.
There's also a full day of New Teacher Orientation sessions being held
at the Education Centre, in Belleville on Wednesday, August 22.
These new teachers will be filling vacancies created by teacher retirements
in June of 2001 in elementary and secondary schools in Hastings and Prince
Edward counties. Some of the teachers are just beginning their careers
in education while others bring with them years of skills and experience.
"We are looking forward
to the new teachers adding to our excellent teaching team in Hastings and
Prince Edward," says Board Chair, Audrey Carter. "With their contribution,
our students are sure to enjoy a great year."
