Aiming for the Top
Students from the
Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board aren't just "aiming for
the top" they're there. Forty-one graduates from HPEDSB schools have won
the province's new Aiming for the Top Tuition Scholarships.
Aiming for the Top is a new program , introduced by the Ontario government,
to reward students who graduate with top marks from their high school,
and who plan to continue their studies at an Ontario college or university.
Students who maintain an 80 percent average at the post secondary level
can receive these scholarships, which are worth up to a maximum of $3,500
per year, for up to four years in total.
"We are very proud of these
students, their teachers and their high schools," said Audrey Carter, Chair
of the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board. "I'm sure the
recipients of the Aiming for the Top Tuition Scholarships appreciate what
a great place to learn they've had with the Hastings and Prince Edward
District School Board and now we wish them well as they continue their
education."
