Facility renewal and consolidation are priorities in Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board.
From time to time, the Board will consider the need to consolidate, close or relocate a school due to changes in curriculum, program demands, student enrolment, community demographics and other factors.
Accommodation Review Committee (ARC)
The Board may recommend that an Accommodation Review Committee (ARC) be formed, as outlined in Policy 15: Student Enrolment/School Capacity. The purpose of the ARC to study, report and make recommendations on the accommodation options for schools in the review area. The following accommodation reviews have been completed:

In July 2011 the Ministry of Education announced funding to build two new schools in Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board, one in Stirling and one in Tweed.
In January 2013, funding approval was received to build a new replacement school on the Harmony Public School site in Thurlow.
On March 17, 2014 the Ministry announced funding to build a new public school in Trenton.
