In January 2013 the Ministry of Education announced funding of $11.6 million to construct a new school to replace the existing Harmony Public School. The new school will accommodate approximately 590 students in JK to Grade 8. Planning is under way. Construction will begin in September 2013 and the new school will be open for September 2014.
A Community Information Meeting was held at Harmony Public School on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. Click here for a copy of the presentation shared at the meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to provide an overview of the project and time lines. Initial design concepts and draft preliminary site and floor plans were shared. An opportunity was provided for questions and feedback.
A second Community Information Meeting will be held on Monday, May 6, 2013, 6:30pm at Harmony Public School. This meeting will focus on the interior design/floor plans of the new school and review of the project timelines. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and share input as well. Parents, guardians, students, staff and community members are invited to attend.
