Quinte Adult Education

Adult, alternative and continuing education consists of programs in either secondary school credit courses or non-credit programs. Secondary school credit courses are offered at two Centres for Individual Studies (CIS) campuses (Clarington and Northumberland regions), and at Peterborough Alternative and Continuing Education (PACE). Non-credit classes are offered for adults in Literacy and Basic Skills through PACE and CIS. For elementary students, International Languages (K-8) are offered dependent on enrolment. For more information on these programs, follow the links to the right.

Options for adults wishing to return to school include day school programs, correspondence courses, and PLAR. For more information on these opportunities, clink on the links below.

HPEDSB believes that all students can achieve success. For this purpose, students are provided with enabling, inclusive, and dynamic educational experiences in the least restrictive learning environment possible.

Based on the Continuous Assessment Process, we believe that early intervention, proactive program planning and ongoing support are essential to maximize student achievement. A wide variety of interventions and accommodations are implemented within the regular class program as appropriate to support student needs. In specific circumstances, a system referral for a placement outside the regular classroom may be considered based on specific criteria to meet the programming needs of some exceptional learners with highly complex needs.

Contact your local school for more information about these programs.
