Secondary school students from across the district are participating in an annual youth forum.
The Youth Forum is a one-day event for student leaders. A student planning committee has organized seminars and working sessions that will feature body image, socio-economic status, learning styles, racial and ethnic differences, and sexual identity and tolerance.
Reporters are invited to interview students at this event
DATE: Wednesday, November 30, 2011
LOCATION: Education Centre, 156 Ann Street, Belleville
TIME: 8:30 a.m. to 2:15p.m.
The event will begin with a keynote address by Matt Tod. Following that, students will move through student-hosted break-out sessions.
The Youth Forum is planned by a sub-committee of the Student Senate. The Student Senate consists of 16 students, with two representatives from each secondary school. Through involvement on the Student Senate, students experience leadership opportunities outside the classroom.
