Take your unwanted electronic items to Sir John A. Macdonald School
Just in time for spring cleaning, Sir John A. Macdonald School is hosting a collection event for unused or broken electronics, such as MP3 players, cameras, telephones, TVs, VCR and DVD players and recorders and radios. They are hosting a community drop-off event, partnering with Ontario Electronic Stewardship, to make it easy to safely recycle electronic waste and keep it out of landfill sites.
DATE: Saturday, April 30, 2011
TIME: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Sir John A. Macdonald School, 22 Harder Drive, Belleville
Items will be responsibly recycled and kept out of landfills. All items will be weighed and a monetary donation will be made to the school to support sports, music and arts programs.
According to Ontario Electronic Stewardship, four out of five Ontario households (82 percent) have at least one electronic product that is not working or not being used.
Residents who cannot attend the event can visit the Ontario Electronic Stewardship interactive website to find the closest OES-approved collection site to recycle their unwanted electronics.
