Susanna Moodie students won Gold at Rotary Music Festival

Congratulations to the Susanna Moodie Elementary School Brass Quintet on winning Gold at Rotary Music Festival!

This very rare group of one tuba and four baritone players performed for adjudicator John Palmer at the 43rd Annual Quinte Rotary Music Festival. The Susanna Moodie Concert Band also played two pieces and did a fine job of representing HPEDSB schools.

Wednesday, April 13, 2011 featured secondary and elementary choral groups at Eastminster United Church. On Thursday, April 14, 2011, the secondary concert and jazz bands perform at the Salvation Army.

Susanna Moodie Elementary School, built in 1980, is located in a rural setting in west-end Belleville and serves approximately 270 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. The school features a computer lab, newly-renovated library, new playground equipment and an instrumental music room. The balanced day schedule at Susanna Moodie ES enriches instruction in academics, arts and athletics. The Creating Caring and Safe Communities Respect Program, central to character building, is implemented throughout the school. Susanna Moodie ES offers an Instrumental Music program and fosters a strong home and school partnership while providing a safe supportive learning environment where students are “Learning to Make a Difference.”
