A visit by Premier Dalton McGuinty gave Centennial Secondary School  students and staff a positive start to the weekend on Friday, February 25, 2011.
McGuinty was in Belleville for a luncheon hosted by the Belleville & District Chamber of Commerce. Immediately following that event, he and The Honourable Leona Dombrowsky, Minister of Education, made a surprise visit to the school.
School administrators Principal Ian Press, and Vice-principals Nancy Popovich and Todd Hinks were given only 45 minutes notice to prepare during last period of the day. The Premier and Minister visited a Transportation Technology class and then spoke to students during Grade 9 Credit Accumulation celebration that was occurring at the time in the Cafeteria.
"The unexpected visit was a very positive experience for students and staff, and it was a proud moment for Centennial and for the district," remarked Principal Ian Press.
