Student Ben Jones, Centennial SS, awarded $70,000 scholarship

Congratulations to Ben Jones, Centennial Secondary School, recipient of a $70,000 scholarship.

Jones is one of 20 exceptional young Canadians chosen as a recipient of the 2012 TD Scholarship for Community Leadership. He was selected from among more than 3,200 applicants. The TD Scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarship programs in Canada and is valued at up to $70,000 over four years of post-secondary study.

This scholarship includes:

  • Up to $10,000 for tuition per year.
  • $7,500 a year for living expenses.
  • An offer of paid summer employment.
  • Mentorship opportunities.
  • Invitations to annual gatherings, networking opportunities and events.

Jones will be celebrated in community in the coming weeks. He will receive his scholarship award at the National Awards Ceremony in Ottawa on Tuesday, May 1, 2012.
