Performer Maria Hawkins will be presenting “Stop the Bullying,” a music-driven motivational presentation for students. The performance supports character development of students who are members of Armed Forces families.

Background on performer Maria Hawkins
Maria Hawkins was raised in CFB Borden from age six to 15before her step-father was transferred to CFB Rockcliffe. Both Maria and her mother are former reservists. This year she celebrates 25 years of working with youth and 10 years as a MASC – Multicultural Arts for Schools and Communities  artist – in support of literally tens of thousands of students in the region. Maria also currently holds a security clearance with the Government of Canada and is available on contract with Health Canada as a motivational speaker for SOS (Strategic Operational Services). She performs regularly with her band at festivals and working on her second CD.
Hawkins has received many awards for her work with children and youth through YM/YWCA Woman of Distinction, Amazing Woman, United Way Community Builder, Artistic Excellence, Rich Little Endowment Award and many others.
